Arsenal offers free tickets to fans who travelled to Old Trafford

An official statement from Arsenal FC sees them offer fans free tickets to another away game in a too-little-too-late move by the club to try and sooth the open wounds left after Sunday’s mauling. Giving away free tickets isn’t going to make the fans any happier now is it Arsenal? They would probably rather watch you spend money on players of higher stock than new striker signing Park Chu Young from French side Monaco for a reported £5 million. Long gone are the title contending days of Arsenal and with both Tottenham and Arsenal sitting firmly near the bottom of the table, Manchester has now firmly established itself as the powerhouse city in English football. The 8-2 embarrassment on Sunday carried an inevitability around it for me: you cannot sell your top 2 players, not replace them and have a genuine hope of coming to the hardest away fixture of the season to walk away with something. Arsenal are spiralling downwards right now, United just sped up the process:

“Sunday’s result was obviously disappointing for everyone connected with the Club. Our travelling fans were magnificent throughout and we want to recognise their fantastic support. We will be writing to them shortly with the details.”
