Tickets on sale for Harry Gregg testimonial in Belfast

Harry Gregg in action for United against Real Madrid back in his heyday.

The story of Harry Gregg is one that has embodied the spirit that survived within United despite the atrocities of the Munich Air disaster in 1958. Harry Gregg helped the club recover and played on for Manchester United following the disaster and over a period of almost nine years, clocked up 247 games for us.

Rightfully, he is being remembered and rewarded with a testimonial on May 15 at Windsor Park in Belfast.

Martin O’Neill has agreed to manage the Northern Ireland XI that will walk out against a Manchester United squad that will be sent for the fixture. Martin was captain of the 1982 Northern Ireland World Cup squad.

“I am honoured to be asked to play a part in the testimonial which will acknowledge Harry’s great contribution to the game”

SAF has recently spoken with U105 Radio from Northern Ireland about the testimonial. He paid special attention to how important this testimonial is to him and the club, pointing towards sending over a full squad for the game despite the Premier League fixture finishing only two days before.

“He is a special man. I am really delighted to bring the team over to play the match. We are bringing our strongest squad over as a tribute to Harry Gregg”

Tickets are available here – Adult tickets are £20. Junior tickets are £10.
