It has been been confirmed that 20-year-old Reece Brown will join up with League One outfit Coventry City next season on loan.
The versatile defender made ten starts for the reserves in the 2011/12 season and has come right through the youth ranks at Manchester United.
Manager Andy Thorn said: “This is another really good signing for us. Reece is a massive talent and we are delighted to be able to bring him here for the season.
“At six foot three, he’s big and athletic and can play at the back and in midfield which is a big plus for us.
“The fact that we looked after Oliver Norwood so well last season has stood us in good stead with Manchester United and we are grateful that Sir Alex Ferguson and his staff have put their faith in us to do exactly the same with Reece.
“This another important signing for the club in what has been a busy summer.”
Loans like this are essential for the growth of any youngster. Brown has also had previous spells with Oldham Athletic, Doncaster Rovers and Bradford City.
Last season, Coventry were relegated from the Championship after a poor campaign but the addition of Brown, who can play across the whole defence as well as the midfield, is a player who will give strength to their team down in the lower divisions of the league.
We will be keeping an eye on Reece Brown’s progress throughout the season and keep you updated on his progress.
