Robin van Persie was taken off at half time on international duty for Holland with a suspected muscle injury to his left thigh.
He took a heavy challenge from Hungary defender Roland Juhasz who hit him with both knees in the thigh.
Over the years, van Persie has suffered multiple injuries whilst playing for his country and it seems like the curse may well have struck again.
It hasn’t been a good day for Manchester United when it comes to injuries with Shinji Kagawa pulling out of Japan’s World Cup qualifier against Iraq as well.
Hopefully van Persie has done nothing damaging and it was merely a precaution because with Wayne Rooney out for at least another two to three weeks, United’s injury list is piling up at an alarming rate.
Update
Holland boss Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Robin van Persie was taken off as a precaution.
More information is likely to be released in the morning.
