POLL: Manchester United Man of the Match vs Stoke City

by Sam Peoples

For me, Wayne Rooney was the man of the match.

Having come back from the international break after scoring three goals, it looked like Rooney was ready to open his goalscoring account for the season and he did so – in his own net.

But instead of crumbling, he turned it around completely by playing a huge part in United’s comeback.

A cracking 1-2 with van Persie led to his first, a powerful downwards header and his superb cross to van Persie gave United the lead.

He also played a delicious ball in to Welbeck for United’s third before netting the fourth – and his 200th career club goal.

His season is only just getting started and with two goals and two assists today, he has quickly become an integral part of our team once again
