Van Persie turned down £300k a week from Manchester City to join United

by Sam Peoples

That is what respected Arsenal blogger @10akhil is claiming to have been told by Arsene Wenger himself at today’s Arsenal AGM meeting.

Obviously, Wenger will never go on record saying such a thing but if we are to believe the claims are true, what a man van Persie is. Piers Morgan might have to come up with a less intuitive nickname than Robin van Pursestrings now.

One thing is obvious – his move to Manchester United was never about money. Even if City didn’t offer him £300k a week, they would have been offering more than United could have – yet he still chose the red side of Manchester.

Ohhh Robin van Persie.

You sorry little Citeh fans. You may have won the premiership in two minutes against QPR, but last nights performance against Ajax you are such a long way off from ever being United, even with a billionaire backing you.
Simple chavvy nouveau riche….it will soon be over!
United We Stand!!!

Utter crap you deluded rag! If you want to believe that players play for you for love not money then that’s up to you. I’ll just remind you that it took 200k a week and a baying mob issuing death threats to stop Rooney leaving a couple of years ago.

Even if he DID turn down 300k a week, it doesn’t follow that his move wasn’t about money. He obviously wanted more than he was offered at Arsenal and his demands were satisfied by Manure. That even more *may* have been on offer at City is irrelevant.

Does it bollocks, would he have gone if you offered him £50,000 a week? No.

Fact is – he could of gone to City as much as he could of gone to United.

He chose United.

LOL – the greedy badger would have bitten their arm off for that kind of money.

Don’t be fooled – he’s just another mercenary and would fit right in at City.

City never even made an offer for him, well known in the inner circles. Mancini screamed for him but Marwood wouldn’t because of his age/demands. Marwood also balked at 130k a week for Hazard which turned out to be a massive mistake as he’s clearly worth that.

What a crock of ****! It’s what you want to believe. City didn’t even go in for VP because they wernt looking at Strikers
