PICTURE: Fernando Torres should have been sent off

by Sam Peoples

Whether or not you agreed with Mark Clattenburg’s decision to give Fernando Torres a second yellow card for diving, there is no avoiding the fact that he shouldn’t of been on the pitch anyway.

He should of been sent off for his horrific chest high foot plant on Tom Cleverley and if it hadn’t of been for Tom getting up almost straight away and shaking the hand of Torres, you can bet that he probably would of seen red for it.

Of course, the media are likely to look at Clattenburg’s debatable second yellow and ignore the fact that Torres shouldn’t of been on the pitch at that time anyway – but it is always United who get the decisions, right?
