Manchester United starlet signs professional terms with the club

by Sam Peoples

James Wilson has been rewarded for his scorching form this season with his first professional contract at Manchester United.

The prolific striker, who celebrated his 17th birthday only last week, has notched up 12 goals this term for the U18s and has also earned a place on the U21s bench.

Earlier this season, James Wilson became only the fourth player at reserve level to net five goals in a game when Manchester United ran out 7-1 winners against Newcastle United.

In Will Keane and James Wilson, United have certainly got some superb English strikers coming through the lower ranks and it is a testament to the quality of our academy.

On Friday, he is expected to take part in the first FA Youth Cup tie of the season when Burnley pay a visit to Old Trafford.

In case you never got to see it, here is James Wilson‘s record five goal haul against Newcastle United for your enjoyment.
