According to Portugoal, Bebe is set to join Portuguese outfit Rio Ave on loan in January in a bid to try and gain the first team game time he needs.

Rio Ave president Antonio Silva Campos¬†told Renascenca: “He [Bebe] is one of the players who should be just hours away from joining, but there are still some details left to address. His signing could be announced very shortly.”

Ever since joining Manchester United in 2010 for over £7 million, Bebe has struggled to make a real impact. Poor performances led to limited opportunities with the first team and a cruciate ligament injury on loan at Besiktas halted any progress there.

Currently fifth in the Portuguese league, Rio Ave might be the platform Bebe needs to kick start his career. Back in his homeland, he might be more comfortable and able to build upon a few impressive appearances with the U21s that have seen him score a couple of goals this season, including this super solo goal against Morecambe.

Good luck to Bebe. He will certainly need to return to United a better player if he is going to be getting any more chances with the first team.
