Reece Brown and Ben Amos have returned to Old Trafford from their respective loan spells at Coventry and Hull City.
21-year-old Brown made ten appearances for the Sky Blues including a Capital One Cup match against Arsenal and certainly gained some experience with the time away from Old Trafford but he has been recalled in time for the elite group stage of the U21s Premier League.
Given the fact that he hadn’t made an appearance since September due to a managerial change, returning to Old Trafford is the best option for Brown. His versatility in being able to play across the whole back line as well as in midfield will mean he is sure to get some game time with the U21s.
Goalkeeper Ben Amos made 17 appearances for Steve Bruce’s Tigers this season before returning in January and flourished for the Championship club who now sit in second place. Making 93 saves in his time under Bruce, Amos developed well and is becoming a very imposing keeper even at the young age of 22.
However, with Sam Johnstone flourishing with the U21s, Amos will struggle to get a consistent amount of game time so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him potentially loaned out to another club during the January transfer window.
