Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed any rumours linking Manchester United with a January move for Crystal Palace’s in demand winger Wilfried Zaha.
Multiple sources had strongly linked United with a move for the 20-year-old Englishman but Ferguson has moved to stop any of those rumours picking up any more pace.
When asked about all January transfer rumours at the pre-match conference this morning, Ferguson said:
“Nothing to report. It’s January for goodness sake!
“I know you’re desperate for a story but there’s no story to tell.”
That pours cold water on the stories linking Zaha to a January move to United. It is unsurprising considering our general lack of activity in January transfer windows but this Zaha story had a different feel to it with all the major papers in the UK having it as their main story each night for the past few days.
