Good news on Vidic, Evans and Young injuries for United

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed to MUTV that the injuries to Vidic, Young and Evans are nothing to worry about this afternoon.

Vidic looked in pain when he was replaced and worries about his knee were immediate considering he has only just returned from injury and rumours spread quickly that his injury was season ending on Twitter.

There were also worries about Young too as he fell awkwardly on his knee and was replaced at half time against Liverpool by Valencia, but news about both players is positive.

Speaking to MUTV today, Ferguson said: “Actually, Vida’s knee is okay.┬áIt was concussion.

“He had a little bit of concussion but he’s okay and fine. He trained yesterday and was good.

“There are no other serious knocks really. I think they’re all pretty good. Obviously, Young has got a dull knock, a little bit of a strain on the knee, but it’s nothing serious.

“I think he’ll be back next week. Maybe not for Tottenham but, the week after, he should be okay.”

Jonny Evans has been ruled out of the tie against West Ham but may return against Tottenham at the weekend, ending fears that his hamstring injury might be more serious than first thought.

Ferguson also confirmed that Nani and Rooney will both feature against West Ham at some point, so it is good news all round on the injury front at United.

Our squad is really close to being complete with no injuries to first team players. I certainly can’t remember the last time that ever happened and going into a busy period that will see us enter the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, we could reap the rewards of a fully fit squad.
