David de Gea would like to move to Barcelona says girlfriend

by Tom Parker

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is a man who has certainly been talked about in the past week.

Throughout all the barracking, there has never been any word from De Gea himself or the club. However, Catalan newspapers Sport and Mundo Deportivo have picked up some very interesting quotes from David De Gea’s girlfriend Edurne about his future.

While the Spanish singer maintained that De Gea is content in England, despite repeated suggestions to the contrary from the media, she did open up the possibility of a move back to the former Atletico man’s country of birth.

Speaking to 8TV, Edurne said: “David is very happy at Manchester United, but of course he would like to return to Spain and if it is Barcelona, even better.”

These quotes are certainly interesting, particularly after De Gea has had a rough week in England. Highly rated in his homeland, he is seen as the long-term successor to compatriot Iker Casillas.

Talked about may be an understatement for De Gea this week. The media seem obsessed with the talented stopper. I in fact, David de Gea could probably present a case harassment and would no doubt be successful (if he had John Terry’s legal team).

If the newspapers aren’t calling De Gea a flop, then they are peddling absolute hokum about Sir Alex Ferguson scouting for replacements for the 22-year-old.

Goalkeepers from every corner of the globe have been linked with United in recent weeks. Begovic, Reina, Victor Valdes, Julio Cesar have all been mooted, depending on what newspaper you read. Paul Merson even made a bizarre plea for Sir Alex Ferguson to sign Aston Villa’s Shay Given on Soccer Saturday a few weeks ago.

De Gea has experienced his fair share of ups and downs over the past 18 months, but while he has made a few mistakes, which are highlighted far more than Joe Harts persistent high-profile errors, it is expected that a young player would make the occasional error, De Gea has however been very solid on the whole, and has had a fine 2012 for United.

then piss off De Gea. why the f*** should we suffer his mistakes while he develops and then he leaves as soon as he gets consistent?
