Tom Cleverley, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Michael Carrick and Chris Smalling have been called up by Roy Hodgson to play in the friendly against Brazil next week.
It is the first time that Chris Smalling has been called up to the squad in almost a year with injuries stifling his chances but given his recent performances, it is unsurprising that Hodgson has recalled him to the squad.
Michael Carrick has also earned a recall after being surprisingly dropped from the squad for the qualifiers against Poland and Montenegro.
Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley have all kept their places.
Here’s the squad in full from www.thefa.com:
Goalkeepers: Jack Butland, Joe Hart.
Defenders: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker.
