VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo scores first own goal of his career in 1-0 loss to Granada

by Sam Peoples

Tonight, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first own goal of his entire career and it turned out to be the winner in Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Granada in La Liga.

Ronaldo headed into his own net from a corner in a loss that leaves Real Madrid 15 points behind Barcelona, who can extend their lead to 18 against Valencia tomorrow.

In less than 2 weeks, Manchester United will be playing against Ronaldo for the first time since he left for £80 million to Real Madrid in 2009 in the knock-out phase of the Champions League.  He has already netted 21 times this season and scored an incredible 60 goals last year in Spain.

It is going to be a strange feeling seeing him play against United but will be good to hear Viva Ronaldo bouncing off the terraces for him again when the second leg is played in March. Let’s just hope he is in the mood for sticking in his on net again in both legs rather than at United’s.
