Being one of the more complex characters in the dressing room, little is known about Anderson. He is rarely mentioned in newspapers and is hardly one for interviews but Anderson often reveals the finer details of his life via his Instagram.
After sharing a number of photos of his team mates wearing bugs bunny outfits on a long-haul flight to Qatar, he recently uploaded a picture of him meeting up with former United player Park Ji-Sung.
United fans all have fond memories of Park who was our go-to-guy in big matches for a few seasons. His uncanny work ethic and ability to pop up and score an important goal was fantastic but he is now plying his trade at QPR after seven successful seasons at Old Trafford.
The 31-year-old, who was recently stripped of the captain’s armband at Loftus Road, has had an injury disrupted season for the Hoops. Anderson is a man who is by no means a stranger to the treatment table, having suffered from terrible luck when it comes to injuries.
Sadly, the Brazilian has never really managed a decent run in the team after an injury ravaged few years. A real shame really as Anderson at his best is devastating with speedy passing and driving runs – something United often lack in midfield.
This season he has been playing the best football of his United career so far and at risk of sounding like Groundhog Day, if he can avoid injury (touch wood) it genuinely can be his breakthrough season.
