Robin Van Persie has retained his Manchester United Player of the Month award after his fantastic contribution in the month of January.
Van Persie started the month with a brace against Wigan before a world-class goal away at West Ham courtesy of that perfect ball from Giggs as well as an absolute wonder goal against the Hammers.
There were also important opening goals against Tottenham Hotspur and arch-rivals Liverpool in an incredible start to the year for the mercurial Dutchman.
The 29-year-old summer signing takes the award for the second month running after also being named player of the month in December. Javier Hernandez also picked the award up on consecutive occasions in October and November.
It has been quite the debut season for Van Persie having already lost 18 goals and a further six assists, in just 25 appearances in the league, after a £24 million summer switch from Arsenal.
Van Persie is in action tonight for the Netherlands as they face Italy in a friendly match. The Peoples Person will bring you the news on his performance later this evening.
