Jurgen Damm recently joined Manchester United for a successful trial with the club after United were impressed with some videos showcasing Damm’s ability.
The 20-year-old Mexican winger from Estudiantes has only made five appearances in the Mexican Second Division this season but got the opportunity to come over to Carrington.
Speaking about his trial, Damm revealed that during his “dream” trial, he got the opportunity to train with the first team and meet Sir Alex Ferguson.
He said: “At the start, I trained with the reserves because the first team were training in Qatar.
“When they returned, they had a match against Fulham and after that I introduced myself and trained with the team directly in front of Sir Alex Ferguson.
“It was a dream and a really unique experience that I will remember for a lifetime.
“It is amazing that a big team like Manchester United have been interested in me and this was an experience that only happens once in a lifetime and I took it to show my qualities.”
Jurgen Damm has now returned to his parent club Estudiantes to continue playing in the Mexican League. While no move is anticipated in the immediate future from United, it is a step in the right direction for Damm.
Take the case of Angelo Henriquez. He had been on the books at United for years after two successful trial periods and it was the foundation for his move to Old Trafford this summer. If Damm continues to impress over in Mexico, then he could follow in the footsteps of Henriquez in the future – how Damm good would that be?
