Manchester United handed Lewandowski transfer boost

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have been handed a boost in the potential summer signing of Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

He has been linked with Manchester United throughout the previous summer and German rivals Bayern Munich, whose first choice last season Mario Gomez has fallen down the pecking order and first choice Mandzuckic has only scored one Champions League goal this season.

However, Manchester United now seem the favourites to capture Lewandowski after Bayern Munich’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said to German newspaper Bild: “We have no intention of negotiating with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of Robert Lewandowski”.

The Polish striker has 14 Bundesliga goals this season along with his five Champions League goals and already speculation has been cast over his future. In the summer, the Pole will have one year remaining on his current deal, meaning in the summer of 2014 – he can leave Dortmund for nothing.

Dortmund may wait until 2014 to negotiate with Lewandowski and his agent for the free transfer, but it looks ever so likely that Lewandowski will leave the German champions and play his football elsewhere this summer – with Manchester United the likely exit route.

Grammer not very good in this article, “first choice last season Mario Gomez has fallen down the pecking order and first choice Mandzuckic has only scored one Champions League goal this season.”

Perhaps you need to rethink your way of writing and maybe proof read it afterwards!
