Liverpool accuse United fans of racist chants at U21s match

by Sam Peoples

liverpool u21s racism

Fans on Twitter, likely not even at the game itself, accused the travelling United support of chanting “You black bastard” at Raheem Sterling and Stephen Sama, despite it audibly being “You scouse bastard” being chanted on MUTV.

Why would United ever sing racist chants? An even more baffling accusation when you consider that Cole, Lingard, Schlupp, Ekangemene and Blackett all took part in proceedings tonight for United against Liverpool.

UPDATE: According to reports emerging from some fans at the game, the reports are not unfounded.

I was at the game and there were racist chants by a section on the United ‘supporters’. “You black bastard” was clear. It defies belief that such chants stiil infest the game. I wonder what the FA will do about it? Probabaly nothing.

I too tell the truth, truthteller. As l’ve already pointed out above, and i’ts there for all to see,the fans you appear to seek to protect are the people i suggest are desperate to blacken Utds name. The flare on the pitch and the chanting were not figments of the imagination … equally sad

Brian 02/25/2013 - 21:34

I’m sitting at home in Northern Ireland watching an under 21 game, the two teams l have no allegiance to,Liverpool v Man Utd being played at a rugby ground. Near the end of the game fans of Man Utd ignited a flare, proceeded to throw it onto the pitch in the midst of some ugly chanting. Is any game at any level now safe from mindless idiots ? SHAMEFUL.

Matt 02/25/2013 - 21:15

United fan here who was at the game tonight and I’m ashamed to say that a section of us WERE chanting “you black bastard”. Ugly scenes.

G 02/25/2013 - 21:43

Typically classless.

The definition of discrimination refers to ethnicity, cultural or national heritage amongst other things so either way you”ve been caught out this time.

Doubtless the FA will ignore the precursory bigotry and find the players guilty of something.

RED 02/25/2013 - 21:33

Get this down your bias throat………………SAMP-on!

G 02/25/2013 - 22:23

On that previous affair. Read the FULL transcript. The FA chose to ignore Xenophobic bigotry and jump on the pretty childish use of the word black despite both offenses in actuality being the same thing. They did that ignoring expert advice because they are a bunch of clueless fuckers.

You’re now trying to use a similar strategy to validate what is essentially the cultural abuse of children

Yeah… Never your fault either is it…

George 02/25/2013 - 21:09

Are scousers dumb or deaf or both:

United fans were chanting: YOU SCOUSE BASTARD!!!!!!!!!!!!
