Lewandowski move to Manchester United unlikely says his agent

by Tom Parker

Robert Lewandowski’s agent has claimed a move to England this summer remains ‘unlikely’ despite recent reports suggesting something to the contrary.

Speculation over a potential transfer to Manchester United had gone into overdrive following Sir Alex Ferguson’s admission that he could ‘find room for anybody here’ when asked about the Polish striker.

Do you think Manchester United will sign Lewandowski this summer?

Lewandowski has just one year remaining on his current deal and will not sign a new deal at Borussia Dortmund. but his agent Malik Barthel has poured cold water over a move to Manchester United or the Premier League.

He said: “I can tell you only one thing – Robert is interested in the future coming to the Premier League. The Premier League is very interesting for Robert. How long is the future, I cannot say to you. I think this summer is not the future.”

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for Dortmund notching 35 goals in 43 appearances, scoring in thirteen consecutive Bundesliga matches, as well as putting Real Madrid to the sword with a fine four-goal performance which has seen his growing profile raised significantly.

Reports in mid-week suggested that Lewandowski would follow Mario Gotze to arch-rivals Bayern Munich, something which Ferguson cast doubt over following uproar from Dortmund fans and was also flatly denied by the Bavarian outfit, but Barthel was refusing to be drawn on speculation simply stating “I don’t know.”

Speculation has alluded to Manchester United spending big this summer and Ferguson’s presence at the Signal Iduna Park against Madrid has done little to halt speculation that cash will be splashed following a number of large sponsorship deals have left the clubs bank balance rather healthy.

The possibility of winning another European Cup before his glittering spell at United ends obviously drives the 71-year-old Scot and the purchase of Robert Lewandowski and perhaps his team-mate Ilkay Gundogan would do little to hinder next seasons pursuit of glory.

Hey Mark, RL is not 20 years old. RVP maybe 29 when he decided to join Man Utd but he was all along in EPL. The Premier League players who excel outside of England go out in this direction not the other way. Once you past 25/26, you can never find your way around in the League.

I think we need a creative midfielder and an attacker. We just need to loan wellbeck and hernandez out then sell and anderson and nani as for rooney he remains a rock at united that is rooney is staying all we just need to do is sign lewandoski and a midfielder. SAF knows whats best for the team so i believe in his capabilities up manu for ever this is my number in case of any manunited fan 08163735736.

It sounds like Lewandowski has agreed to join Bayern Munich already and so that won’t be a possibility. If we cannot sign Lewandowski then we should forget about signing a new striker for next season. I don’t believe all the Falcao stories and the price seems way to high for us. We should focus on making our midfield much stronger, so that we can compete again in the League and challenge hard for the CL. If we learnt anything from Dortmund and Bayern Munich it is that you need a flexible and powerful midfield in order to compete and dominate the best teams.

Ferguson seems to have money to go again and push on as he said. I think we need a player to help us control and dominate matches. The player I would love is Benat Extrebarria. I’ve seen the guy play for Real Betis and he oozes class with his passing ability. I’ve seen him do the dirty work as well and put in a defensive shift when required. I think he would improve our team, especially in the CL. We might be able to sign him for £15 million. If we cannot have Xavi then this guy is the closet thing to him. The other player I would sign is Ignacio Camacho. The guy is rated as one of the best defensive midfielders in La Liga, but like all Spainish players, he can play as well. Malaga have a lot of financial problems and we should try and get him for £10-12 million.

Spanish players are the best, along with the Germans, and the likes of Fabregas, Alonso, Silva. Michu and Mata have shown that they have no trouble playing in England once they are settled. Its not a shock that the star kid we have at the moment is David De Gea, a player that both Barcelona and Real Madrid would like. I’m sure bringing in a couple of Spanish players would boost De Gea as well.

I would also make a move for James Rodriguez in order to improve the wide area with more quality and match winning qualities. Zaha is a raw talent and will improve as he gets older. Rodriguez is a similar age but is ahead in terms of his ability. We need to sell Nani and Anderson.

I think Benat Extrebarria, Ignacio Camacho and James Rodriguez would cost around £55 million. All three would bring great quality to our squad and its what we need really, considering we have attacking qualities in Van Persie, Hernandez, Kagawa, Welbeck and Rooney. If we have a stronger midfield alongside Carrick then we will control more matches and score even more goals next season. In 2008 we have Carrick, Scholes, Anderson, Hargreaves and Fletcher and all of them were strong player in the center of midfield. We need something similar, and we would with Carrick, Benat, Camacho, Cleverley and Giggs next season.
