#MoyesOut is already trending in Manchester on Twitter

That didn’t take very long. Less than three hours after his appointment and more than two months before his first game as Manchester United manager, #MoyesOut is trending in Manchester.

Some people using the hashtag are rival fans having a dig, some have done so more as a question or as a joke but there is a big portion who have used it in outrage at his appointment.

What’s the point? David Moyes is officially Manchester United’s new manager and will be for the next six years. Nothing is going to change that.

The problem with following on from Ferguson is that it is impossible to find an immediately adequate replacement because it took Ferguson 26 years to create his aura. If Mourinho was named manager, you would probably see #MourinhOut trending on Twitter as well.

Negativity is going to get Moyes nowhere. He has already taken on the hardest job that will ever exist in football so what good is having fans on his back going to do?

I’ll be supporting Moyes 100% and excited to see what he can do with a squad of winners and a budget of more than £2.99 a year.

Why did you have to show your arrogance by suggesting that Everton’s budget was £2.99 per year? Don’t you think that was a bit crass and disrespectful?

It was merely hyperbole.

Dont attribute that to United fans! It’ll just be a bunch of sad trolls. Reporting on twitter is not news.
