Thiago Alcantara’s father and agent Mazinho has already met up with Manchester United officials, reports claim.
Although nothing has been officially confirmed by either club, the links to a potential move to Old Trafford have been getting stronger by the day.

Chelsea are contemplating an offer for Thiago Alcantara, ESPN has learned, although Manchester United remain in the lead for the playmaker’s signature. Miguel Delaney, ESPN correspondent
United are the front runners alongside Bayern Munich to secure Thiago’s signature according to various sources in Spain with Mundo Deportivo reporting that he is close to making the move to Old Trafford.
ESPN’s Miguel Delaney also has claimed that Chelsea are now in the hunt for the Spaniard but re-iterates that United remain in pole position.
Photographs emerged yesterday of a ‘See you in Manchester’ note reportedly scribbled by David De Gea on his match-day ball from the final where he stole the show with a text book hat-trick.
De Gea has also admitted that he has talked to Thiago about a move to Old Trafford and has been nudging him in the right direction.
The 22-year-old’s potential exit from Barcelona is the biggest transfer story of the summer and movement from his camp was expected after the conclusion of the U21 European Championship on Tuesday.
Thiago’s release clause was dropped from €90 million to €18 million due to a lack of first team appearances.
