PICTURE: United’s potential new Ronaldo wins first title with Brazil U17s

by Sam Peoples

Bruno Gomes is a name The Peoples Person readers are familiar with by now as we have interviewed him exclusively in the past.

The young Brazilian striker from Desportivo Brasil is hoping to secure a move to Old Trafford in the next couple of years and seeing how well he has done in the past 12 months, he is certainly giving himself a chance.

From winning the Golden Boot for Desportivo in the U17 Brazil Championship to scoring seven (yes, seven) goals in a single match, he is showing all the hallmarks of a great striker.

And earlier this week, Gomes secured his first ever title with Brazil’s U17s as his fine season continues.

The Peoples Person sat down with Bruno to talk about how the competition went for him, whether he feels he can be Brazil’s new Ronaldo and what he hopes will happen about his move to Old Trafford.

How does it feel to win your first ever title?

I’m very happy and I hope to win many titles still with Brazil in my career

Does it make you want to try even harder so you can win more?

I have to train harder because in Brazil things are not like in other countries. Here, there are many talented players so you have to stand out

Do you think you can be Brazil’s future number 9 striker?

Yes, I’m training hard for this to happen in the future but as I said in Brazil it is not enough to just train and play well

Are you ready to move to Europe soon?

Yes, I am ready to make the move away from Brazil

Are you still hoping that Manchester United come and sign you?

Yes but now everything depends on Manchester United. I already did my part. Now, United need to go ahead with the transfer and purchase me in front of others

What would it mean to play for Manchester United?

It would mean a lot and be the start of a successful project for me.
