United reject unbelievable offer from Chelsea for Wayne Rooney

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have rejected a £10 million plus Juan Mata or David Luiz offer for Wayne Rooney according to reports.

The 27-year-old’s comments yesterday, likely handed to the press by his agent Paul Stretford, sparked fury among United fans and it looks to have got the ball rolling.

What an unbelievable offer. Juan Mata, Chelsea’s stand-out player of the year last season plus £10 million for a player who, despite all his talent, clearly just can’t go any further as a United player? Yes please Mr Mourinho.

What gives this rumour legitimacy is the fact that every newspaper broke the story at the same time, indicating that there was an embargo on releasing the information to the public.

It is understandable that United flatly rejected the initial offer from Chelsea because they know full well that Chelsea will come back with an improved offer.

If United are going to have to sell Rooney to a domestic rival, then the board is going to do everything in their power to make sure the price is as good as it can be.

This is an incredible offer..I worry that they wont actually take one of these players! Can you imagine a 4-2-3-1 with fab and mata. We have to accept he is going to a domestic rival, so what better way to do it than take their best player! maybe if we offer rooney plus 10mill we can get luiz and mata.
