Shinji Kagawa’s agent believes that he will stay at Manchester United but admits that ‘everything is possible in football’.

The 24-year-old yesterday admitted that he would like to play for Dortmund at one point in the future should they want him back.

But speaking to German newspaper Bild, Kroth said that it is a move that is unlikely to happen right now but his ambiguous statement left the possibility open.

“At this time, I’d like to think that Shinji will stay in Manchester, but everything is possible in football,” he said.

“One day I will return, if Dortmund agree to it.” Shinji Kagawa

Dortmund’s CEO Aki Watzke also spoke about Kagawa making a return to the Bundesliga outfit but admitted that it is not something they are currently looking at.

“The door will always be open for Shinji, but currently that is not an issue,” he told Bild.

Big things are expected for Kagawa at this season and despite his agent’s inconclusive statement, it would be a surprise to see him leave Old Trafford.

He settled well towards the end of his first season in the Premier League and has now joined up with David Moyes’ side out in Japan on the third leg of the pre-season tour where he has been getting straight into training with the squad.

After a good summer with Japan, Kagawa now needs to knuckle down to get match fit ahead of the start of the new campaign and if he can regain full fitness, he could become one of the most influential players in the squad next year.
