Manchester United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Cesc Fabregas after he was left out of Barcelona’s squad for their pre-season tour.
Along with the likes of Xavi, Pique, Iniesta, Alba and Busquets, the 26-year-old midfielder has been given extra time off following his participation on Spain’s Confederations Cup campaign in Brazil.
It means that Fabregas will be away from the squad and, like Rooney back at Carrington, he will be left to contemplate his future without being alongside his Barcelona team-mates.
With Ed Woodward back in Europe to help advance United’s approaches for transfer targets and Fabregas away from the Barcelona squad, a deal could happen.
The likes of Puyol, Iniesta and Puyol have all voiced their opinion that Fabregas will not contemplate a move away from the Nou Camp but sources close to the player indicated that he has been given no assurances about first team football next year, a move looks like it could happen.
Fabregas’ absence does not mean that he will be leaving Barcelona this summer but it opens up the possibility for negotiations between United and the player.

I think we need TWO midfielders and moyes should hurry up! fabargas, modric or reus. and bale! but we will end up with none! I hope im wrong. this ed Woodard guy should of stayed in Australia!
I still believe man united will do a major signing by the end of next week.if it’s fabrigas,i’ll still be comfortable.
The likes of Puyol, Iniesta and Puyol…LOL fail
Hahaha he already said that fool… He says every day he wint leave barca he has done a lot to return back to home so why he want to return? And another one thiago is gone? And xavi is gettin old? Why the hell should they sell cesc aswell when they do there is a busy season coming up en song is reserve for sergio B en sergio roberto for iniesta en fabregas 100% for xavi… He will claim his place by the end of the season… So get over yourselff cesc wont leave if you otherwise still thinking hell come than you need to see a docter right away…
It’s funny to hear Arsenal supporters getting all bitter and twisted cos they know deep down that Cesc will be in a United shirt within a fortnight. If he didnt want to come he would have addressed the media by now and said so. Someone is encouraging us to keep bidding. Hmmm, wonder who that is? Tough titty Gunners, you know he’s on his way to us. Never mind. You can have Rooney off us if you have the money
Mk this is infact a good little story because SkySports are saying Cesc is considering his future!

Don’t agree with you there mate, I think Barcelona can absolutely afford to let him go in fact I think they’d be mad to turn down the money. They are producing youngster after youngster and Xavi has a few years left and that point cesc will be 29,maybe ready to take over but there is an equally strong possibility that a better player will come along. I don’t think he is quite up there for barce midfielders, he suits the prem better IMO. The stats that have been thrown about lie a little, of course he was going to score goals he has been playing up front, but that has now changed since nymars arrival. I watched him in many games last seaon and thought he looked a bit of weak link
He can choose to stay at barce and become a squad player, and that’s where he’s heading or can choose to come to utd and be one of the main men, a possible future captain.
Simon I just can’t see it , why bid for him AFTER Thiago leaves? It makes no sense. They should put the bid in the day the transfer window opened. To me it looks like we chased Thiago for a month and then sudenlyFanregas is our number 1 target.
I agree they must be getting some encouragement to bid from someone; but if they sell him they will be left with Song as there only back-up in central midfield. This is Barca we’re talking about no City…why would they do that?!!!!
Waste of time ..
Why raise our hopes with such headlines??? Surely, when its Fabregas alone being left out of the squad, that would be worth talking about, but when he’s on extended break along with a host of others… C’mon! Your ‘constant’ updates are appreciated but please stop raising and then dashing our hopes within seconds like this. Concrete news only please. Thank you
Listen mate are you having a laugh…you are just creating stories you are as bad as the tabloids. He’s been left behind as have all the players who played in the confederations cup. How is that giving us a boost????? You make it sound as if he’s the only player left behind with a headline like that!!!!!
Would love him to join the club but face it they will never let him go; it would be suicide for them.
