Cesc Fabregas has told friends in the Premier League that he wants to move to Manchester United according to the Daily Mail’s Ian Ladyman.
Ladyman goes on to suggest that Fabregas would be keen on the move so he could gain regular first team football and that reuniting with Robin van Persie would be a driving force behind the move.
David Moyes has submitted two official bids for Fabregas and admitted that talks were ongoing with Barcelona.
Ed Woodward has now been back in England for over a week on ‘urgent transfer business’ and judging by United’s approach to the Fabregas situation, the 26-year-old midfielder is our top priority this summer.
On paper, Fabregas has so many reasons to stay at Barcelona; he is from Catalan, has just had a baby and learned his football at La Masia.
But at United, the pull of first team football is certainly there as he would become the lynch pin in our midfield and be thrust back into the limelight ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
Arsenal fans are convinced that Fabregas would never move back to England if it wasn’t with Arsenal and while I agree with them at this stage, they also thought that Van Persie wouldn’t move to Manchester so anything can happen.
