Barcelona remain insistent that Fabregas won’t join Manchester United

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has once again reiterated his stance that Cesc Fabregas won’t leave this summer.

The Spanish club have already rejected two offers but a club record reported third offer in excess of £35 million is being lined up by David Moyes to test Barcelona’s resolve.

Last week, Martino insisted that Fabregas’ future was up to the midfielder but when questioned by AS, he insisted that the 26-year-old would remain at the Nou Camp despite United’s continued interest.

“Fabregas is still our player and he will be with us for this season,” he said.

“Right now I’m more worried about whether Puyol will recover.”

Fabregas started in Barcelona’s 7-1 romp of Thailand today and once again impressed from the middle of the park but his continued silence has allowed continued speculation to bubble on.

Earlier this week, sporting director Andoni Zubizaretta and financial vice-president Javier Faus both shared Martino’s sentiment that Fabregas will not leave the club this summer despite Martino suggesting Fabregas’ future was up to him, sending slightly mixed signals out to the media.

The speculation will continue about Fabregas until he speaks to the press about his future at Barcelona and with only ten days until the start of the Spanish domestic season, that is expected to happen soon.
