Wayne Rooney will start for England tonight against Scotland after overcoming a shoulder injury that has kept him out of action for Manchester United.
The 27-year-old wasn’t fit enough to play in United’s Community Shield triumph against Wigan but he has recovered to start against Scotland three days later.
The script looks written already for Rooney to play fantastic and score a couple of goals. For him, it won’t be a friendly. He’ll be itching to show the world how good he is and will put 110% into his performance.
As well as Rooney, Cleverley and Welbeck have been handed starts by Roy Hodgson.
David Moyes is no doubt going to be questioned on Rooney’s injuries as he is on the ITV panel for the game alongside Roy Keane and Lee Dixon.
