Angelo Henriquez can’t stop scoring right now. He enjoyed a fruitful U20 World Cup with Chile, scored on his full senior debut with Manchester United and last night, he scored for Chile’s senior side in a comfortable 6-0 thrashing of Iraq.
He found himself in the right place at the right time and lashed home a shot into the roof of the net. Henriquez is a real poacher and it is no coincidence that he is always in the right place. Henriquez’s goal means he has scored two goals in two appearances for Chile.
There are great playing style similarities between Henriquez and Javier Hernandez, with both diminutive strikers possessing an uncanny ability to get on the end of any ball that is put in the box as well as having a deadly finish no matter what body part they use. It is a natural talent that has made Hernandez so dangerous in the Premier League and judging by his early showings, it is one that Henriquez has in abundance too.
Earlier this week, Henriquez admitted that he may be forced to look elsewhere to secure game time to ensure he keeps getting selected for the national side and a loan spell for the youngster is the right move for all parties, so long as he gets more minutes on the pitch than he did at Wigan last season.
