Manchester United’s U21s make the 84 mile trip down to The Hawthorns this Friday in their second game of the Barclays Premier League U21 season.
Going into the game on the back of an opening day defeat to local rivals Liverpool on Monday, United will be looking to kick-start their season with a victory against Midlands outfit West Brom.
United’s second string travelled to the The Hawthorns towards the end of last season and they came out victorious as they beat what was a strong and youthful West Brom side 2-0 with goals coming from John Cofie and Sean McGinty who ironically, are no longer at the club.
All three are set to keep their starting places however Federico Macheda may return to the squad just a day after he celebrated his 22nd birthday.
The West Brom side includes the highly rated Saido Berahino who scored both of Brom’s goals in their opening tie against Bolton Wanderers, a game that ended in a draw.
The Burundian born strikers style of play has being compared to that of Danny Welbeck and at just the age of 20, he has plenty more to come, especially after impressing in his loan spells at Northampton, Brentford and Peterborough.
