Manchester United are willing to break the club’s transfer record to match Ander Herrera‘s €36 million release clause in order to bring him to Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old Athletic Bilbao midfielder has already shown that he is willing to make the move by agreeing to take a lower wage in order to help the transfer go through, so it is now a case of the transfer being completed in time with less than nine hours left in the transfer window.
Obviously, Herrera would also have to fly to Manchester and complete a medical before any deal could be finalised so although United may be willing to match his €36 million release clause, nothing is for certain until it is confirmed by the club.
