Manchester United preparing for second bid on Spanish midfielder

Manchester United are going to send scouts to Spain in order to keep an eye on the progress of Ander Herrera according to The Telegraph’s Mark Ogden.

United failed in a deadline day bid to sign the 24-year-old midfielder from Athletic Bilbao after refusing to meet his £30.5 million release  clause.

But David Moyes is still interested in signing Herrera and will send scouts to watch the midfielder against Granada ahead of a potential second attempt to bring Herrera to Old Trafford in January.

Ogden was one of the first to break the news of Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement and is always a reliable source when it comes to United news.

Of all the transfer failures, Herrera’s was the most avoidable. United had cash reserves in excess of £90 million at the start of the summer yet refused to cough up an extra £6 million to secure his signature which was rightfully seen as a terrible decision.

Herrera has intimated he would still be open to a United move in January if the offer came in and by the looks of it, Moyes will be doing his homework this time before making a move for Herrera.
