Manchester United will free Zaha soon

Wilfried Zaha is yet to play a single minute of competitive football for David Moyes’ Manchester United.

The 20-year-old was the stand out performer on the pre-season tour of Asia and many expected him to make an appearance in the Premier League by now but that has proven not to be the case with Moyes looking elsewhere for wingers.

Zaha is exciting and I can’t wait to see him play but when you’ve got players like Shinji Kagawa and Nani who can’t get any minutes on the pitch, you realise that Zaha will have to continue biding his time before being given his competitive debut.

But now that the tough start to the season is out of the way, it won’t be long before Moyes will free Zaha.

Our next five fixtures are against West Brom, Sunderland, Southampton, Stoke City and Fulham. Five games United will look at as winnable. Moyes wanted to use his experienced players during the difficult start but if United can hit a vein of form with some wins, he’ll be presented with the perfect opportunity to unleash Zaha.

Zaha may have been the most exciting player on the pre-season tour but his shooting was pretty poor. He’ll have been working hard on that in training and should be a better player because of it.

There are those that have prematurely called for Zaha to be loaned out from United but he will get his chances this season. If he can get anywhere between 10-15 senior appearances this year, he should consider it a success.

Making it into the first team at United is a marathon not a sprint and Zaha will know that. He has always reiterated he will be happy just to get some first team football at Old Trafford this year and it won’t be long before he gets his first taste of it.
