Nani has called for patience from Manchester United fans following our shock defeat to West Brom this weekend.
The 26-year-old was the best performer on the day but for all his attacking endeavour, United couldn’t turn it around and it leaves them in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
But despite the defeat, Nani believes United’s previous experience of tough situations will help the club to improve and get over the current slump in form.
“First half we controlled the game, but just couldn’t score,” Nani told Sky Sports.
“After our goal, I thought we were going to play better and get the second goal, but they just took their chances.
“We have been in this position before, so we know how to deal with it. Everything takes time to work, the fans must be patient, and from the next game, we hope everything is right.”
“We have a strong team here at United, some good players, so I am in no doubt we will put it right.
“We will just go out and try and win the next one.
“We should be playing better, but sometimes this happens.
“We have been in this position before, so we know how to deal with it.
“Everything takes time to work, the fans must be patient, and from the next game, we hope everything is right.”
United’s next game is a very tough away day in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk where the pressure will really be on following the result at the weekend.
While United have been in tough positions before, our current situation is new territory for the club. The players now need to knuckle down and improve because fans patience will run out very quickly if United continue to put in limp performances like West Brom.
