Adnan Januzaj tells Belgium coaches he wants to stay at Manchester United

Adnan Januzaj has told Belgium’s coaching staff he wants to stay at Manchester United according to Sky Sports News.

The 18-year-old started negotiations over a new contract back in August but due to Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, they slowed down. However, fresh reports suggest that he will sign a long term deal and stay at Old Trafford.

Sky Sports News’ claims support his agent’s statement today that Januzaj’s priority is to break through into United’s first team, something which he has done with aplomb in the past few weeks.

Januzaj’s international future is also up in the air as well because he is yet to decide what country he will play for with the likes of Belgium, Albania, Turkey and even England interested in him. This would explain why he would be in conversation with Belgium’s staff.

With an international break over the next two weeks, David Moyes will no doubt be keen to sort out Januzaj’s contract after his brilliant full League debut and if that is anything to go by, the 18-year-old is ready to make the step up to the first team straight away.
