Rafael has rubbished any rumours that he is considering leaving Manchester United for Corinthians in Brazil.
Rumours surfaced last month suggesting that negotiations had already begun but the 23-year-old has moved to stop them gathering any pace ahead of the two week international break.
“A lot of people texted me asking about that (Corinthians rumour),” he told Perform.
“I haven’t heard anything about that and my agent made it very clear that I am not considering a move.
“Especially after last season there is no reason whatsoever for me to leave.
“Maybe because I was injured and not playing some people may have thought that. Or maybe because we have a new manager.
“But for me it is business as usual. It’s not time to come back to Brazil.”
Last year, Rafael was by far and out United’s most improved player and it is good to hear he is committed to United. He has blossomed from a raw, unpolished defender into one of the best right backs in the Premier League after five years of hard work.
One thing that Rafael will want to achieve next is to get back into the Brazilian national side after his exodus following the London 2012 Olympics and if he continues this season in the same form as 2012/13, then Luiz Felipe Scolari will surely have to take notice.
