Manchester United are ‘crazy’ for Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez claim Spanish press

Manchester are looking to rekindle their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez and are ‘crazy’ for the Chilean attacker according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 24-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford from Udinese before he made the choice to join Barcelona instead in the summer of 2011.

After taking a year to fully settle in Spain, last season Sanchez established himself in the Barcelona side with 11 goals and 13 assists in 46 appearances and has started this one in fine form with four goals and three assists in ten appearances.

His best game of the year came against Real Valladolid last weekend where the Chilean scored twice and bagged an assist in a man of the match performance.

While United’s interest may be genuine, there is a bit of mystery as to where the source of this story is.

Mundo Deportivo and SPORT have both quoted the ‘English press’ as where the news has been reported from whereas the Express has attributed SPORT as the source.

David Moyes has already intimated that he feels United’s squad needs an injection of ‘five or six’ world class players in order to compete at the highest level and Sanchez certainly falls into that category but would Barcelona be willing to let him leave the Nou Camp?
