Adnan Januzaj added to Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League squad

Adnan Januzaj has been added to Manchester United’s senior UEFA Champions League squad ahead of Real Sociedad’s visit to Old Trafford this week.

The 18-year-old was left out of the first two squads because if had been added as an ‘A’ list player, United wouldn’t have been able to list him as a youth team player in the future.

However, due to residency rules, he is now eligible to become a B-list player which means he can be added to the squad as a youth team player and not take up one of the senior squad spots.

Januzaj has already made his Premier League and Capital One Cup debut this season so playing in Europe’s finest competition is one of the last steps in his progression as a first team United player.

Whether he plays against Real Sociedad is another matter altogether but it is fantastic to see Januzaj is now part of our senior Champions League squad.
