Wayne Rooney issues rallying cry after performance against Stoke

by Sam Peoples

Wayne Rooney has called for Manchester United to string some results together after a trademark turn around victory against Stoke continued our current form.

United have won three and drawn one out of our last four games in all competitions and now sit eight points behind Arsenal but Rooney wants that gap to be closed as soon as possible.

Speaking on his official Facebook page, he said: “Huge 3 points today! We never stopped believing and thankfully Chicharito managed to score late on.

“It’s important now that we put a good run together in the league and close the gap at the top of the table!”

Rooney had yet another great performance against Stoke and his headed equaliser was a great example of fantastic technique combined with placement. It saw his fine personal form continue and United now need to use the victory against Stoke as a springboard to success.

Norwich visit Old Trafford in the Capital One Cup this week before we face a tough trip away to Fulham next weekend and if United can come away with two victories, it will put us in great shape for tough fixtures against Real Sociedad and Arsenal the following week.
