Fabio has thanked Manchester United and its fans for ‘changing his life’ following his cameo appearance against Norwich last night.
The 23-year-old made the most of his short time on the pitch with a well taken goal after he expertly controlled a lovely pass from Wayne Rooney that he slotted underneath Norwich’s goalkeeper.
After the game, he took to his official Instagram account to send a message to United’s fans. He said: “Thank you for the fans! This club change my life and life of my family.”
Fabio revealed that he might be forced to leave United in order to secure regular first team football but admitted he just wanted to be happy. When he came on against Norwich, he looked exactly that.
There is no way that United should consider letting Fabio go. Not only is he a much better prospect at left-back than Alexander Buttner, the implications on his twin Rafael could be huge.
Last year, Rafael flourished in the absence of Fabio but that was safe in the knowledge he would return next year. If they were to be separated permanently, it could have a real knock on effect on Rafael.
You can’t separate them. Rafael even posted a video on his Instagram page of the goal too!
United had Gary and Phil Neville as our marauding brothers at full back before and with Patrice Evra’s career coming to an end, there is no reason why Rafael and Fabio cannot become our next set if Fabio is given more opportunities to prove himself.
