Zaha puts Moyes’ daughter rumours to bed and is happy to keep fighting for his place

Wilfried Zaha has taken to his official Twitter account to put an end to rumours that his absence from Manchester United’s team is because he bedded David Moyes’ daughter.

The 20-year-old has only featured once this season for the first team in the Capital One Cup despite an impressive pre-season which led to these rumours spreading like wildfire on Twitter.

Previously, Zaha labelled the rumours as childish but he has been irked by the continuation of the rumours enough to take a very public stance against them.

“I’ve never dated or even met David moye’s Daughter so that isn’t the reason for my absence in games …” he said.

Clearly Zaha felt the need to put the rumours to bed but the tweets have since been deleted, either by his own decision or by that of the club.

This is the sort of thing that Zaha wouldn’t have experienced with Crystal Palace – the constant scrutiny and potential slander you receive as a United player – and it isn’t a surprise that it has got to his head.

However, all he can do is continue his hard work on the training ground, ignore the rumours and wait for David Moyes to give him his opportunities. As he said, whenever Moyes feels he is ready he will play him so he needs to keep trying to impress him.
