Ivan Rakitic has left the door open for a move to Manchester United after admitting he is frustrated with his current situation at Sevilla in Spain.
The prolific midfielder has previously admitted he is honoured by United’s interest in him and now that it is clear he isn’t happy in Spain, there is every chance United could see it as an opportunity to bring him to Old Trafford.
“A football player can never say with certainty that he will remain in his club,” he told Slovakian website Nogomania.
“Such is the nature of our business. I’m in Seville for three years now and in this time many things have changed.
“It is clear that in such a big club people can not be satisfied with average results.
“If there is no success, if there are no trophies, frustration grows. Everything has changed.
“I can assure you that I’m one hundred percent focused on Sevilla and I only think about our next match.”
Rakitic is one of the most in form midfielders in La Liga this year according to Whoscored as, despite Sevilla languishing near mid table, he has scored seven goals and has been in fantastic form.
David Moyes has made it clear that United will buy players in January so long as the right targets are available and Rakitic would certainly be great value for money as we would be able to sign him for a relatively modest fee less in comparison to some of our other targets.
