Marco Reus has welcomed interest from Barcelona and Manchester United calling it an achievement to be linked with both clubs but poured cold water over a potential move to either in January.
Dortmund are currently in fourth place in the Bundesliga, 12 points behind Bayern Munich at the top, but the 24-year-old has insisted that he is currently very happy there and that a move to any club other than Dortmund won’t happen in the near future.
Reus would have been a real statement signing for David Moyes but for the time being, it looks very unlikely to materialise.
“I can only say to all: I do not think about it. Anything other than Dortmund at this time is far away,” Reus told Bild when asked about leaving Dortmund.
When questioned about his name being linked with United and Barcelona, Reus said: “To be honest, that is something I read very little of. But you do notice there are times that there is interest here and there, which is quite an achievement. ”
On paper, Reus is exactly the winger that United need as he is just as comfortable operating in any of the front three positions but a January move looks off the cards. However, I think there is every chance that Reus could move away from Dortmund in the future.
