PICTURE: Moyes attends Juventus game against Cagliari as Vidal rumours intensify

David Moyes is in attendance alongside Jimmy Lumsden for Cagliari’s game against Juventus this afternoon to scout Cagliari’s Davide Astori according to widespread reports.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old cecntre back Astori but this is the first time that Manchester United have been credited with an interest in him this year.

Although reports do suggest that Astori is the player that Moyes is there to scout, there is every possibility that he wanted to watch Arturo Vidal in action as the Chilean is considered one of the most complete central midfielders in world football right now. Of course, this isn’t the first time that United have sent scouts to a Juventus game as we watched them in action against Roma only a few weeks ago.

According to The Independent, United have also rekindled their interest in Claudio Marchisio as well so there are a host of players that Moyes could be watching including Paul Pogba.

Moyes must have a real interest in a Juventus or Cagliari player because it isn’t normal for a manager and his first team coach to take a trip to Italy on a general scouting mission.

Moyes and Lumsden aren’t the only members of United’s coaching staff away on scouting duties as Phil Neville was in Spain today to watch Getafe taken on Rayo Vallecano and we are certainly busy behind the scenes with transfers this January.
