USA youngster Alonzo Clarke has confirmed he will return to Manchester United in February to undergo a second trial at the club.
The 16-year-old, who currently plays for Bethesda-Olney Academy, already underwent a trial with both Blackpool and United but will come back to Carrington next month in order for our academy staff to make their final judgement on him.
Here is an excellent interview with Clarke where he discusses his trial at United and what it means for him to have had the chance to be given the opportunity to train with United. Here’s an extract:
How did you feel when you had a trial with Manchester United?
Going into the United trial I was confident as this was the opportunity that I had been waiting for all my life, and I knew that I had to seize the opportunity. Also, the players and staff at United helped me by making me feel at home.
When will you find out if your trial with Manchester United was successful?
I will find out if I had a successful trial, when I make my return to United in February, for another evaluation.
What will the evaluation involve?
Not sure. I just have to prepare myself physically, mentally and emotionally to go back. I have to make sure I give everything I have, in order to strive for success.
