It is fantastic news to hear that all three players are closing in on their return to match fitness, especially Rooney and Van Persie.
United have really missed having the pair in the side as the Dutchman has been sidelined for the last 11 games with a thigh injury and Rooney has been absent for the last five games. Without them in the side, we have struggled to be creative in the final third.
Fellaini is yet to impose himself onto the United team but now that he has had his wrist surgery and has had time to settle at the club, we should start to see Fellaini’s performances improve in the second half of the season.
The return of all three players as well as the signing of Juan Mata means United’s squad could be at full tilt for Cardiff’s visit tomorrow. The club is already on a high following the arrival of Mata but Van Persie and Rooney’s return would take it up a notch.
Moyes didn’t confirm whether any of the trio would be fit in time to face Cardiff but the fact that they have returned to training means they can’t be too far away from match fitness and a full return.
