VIDEO: Munich’s Kroos reacts angrily to substition as Manchester United interest grows

by Sam Peoples

Toni Kroos has fuelled speculation linking him with a move away from Bayern Munich to Manchester United tonight with a visible act of frustration after he was substituted by Pep Guardiola.

Kroos’ frustration was visible as he threw his gloves off. To those saying that Kroos was simply taking his gloves off, he could have easily sat down on the bench out of sight and did so quietly. Instead, he did it very publicly despite the spotlight that is currently on him.

The 24-year-old has delayed contract talks with Munich this week and his uncertain future has seen him strongly linked with a move to Manchester United given our need for at least one world-class central midfielder. Reports this week have even suggested Kroos would like a move to United.

Raphael Honigstein believes nothing will be agreed with Kroos until the end of February but yesterday, Kroos insisted that he could not rule out a move away from Munich and this show of frustration won’t help stop any speculation.

Despite the delays, Munich CEO Karl-Heinze Rummenige remains hopeful that Kroos can be tied down a new deal.

He said“I hope we can get an agreement with Toni Kroos. We have to find a contract that make Toni and Bayern happy”

A few weeks ago, Mata was visibly frustrated after being substituted by Jose Mourinho. Soon after that, Mata had joined United. Is Kroos’ show of frustration a prelude to a move away from Munich?
