Robin van Persie has thanked Manchester United’s fans on his Instagram for their continued support despite the poor form the team has shown this year that has understandably let to a lot of frustration for fans.
United have really struggled to be clinical in front of goal in Van Persie’s absence and the 30-year-old made it two goals in two starts since his return from injury to underline his importance to the side.
Unfortunately, his goal against Stoke City was in vain but with a home game against Fulham coming up this weekend, United will be looking to bounce back straight away and start putting some results together after a terrible January.
Fulham is a team that Van Persie likes scoring against. He scored his first ever goal for United in a game against the Cottagers and scored in our 3-1 victory at Craven Cottage earlier this season, so hopefully he can continue his impressive comeback from injury with a goal or four on Sunday.
Van Persie was not 100% match fit against Stoke but he still managed to get a goal. We might have struggled terribly this season but if we’ve got a fully fit Van Persie in our side, anything can happen.
